Statement: In her new series, Entwined, C. M. Judge creates small paintings that explore shape and color. Intersecting plans and shapes alternate between being seen as positive and negative space, foreground and background. A cheerful color palette is the artist’s response to this period of transition between winter and spring along with the joyful expectation of reconnecting with people and beloved places. In her painting, “So We Meet Again” the curvilinear shapes conjure the feeling of coming together in a moment of affinity.
