Led by professional archivist Shelley Diamond\, this workshop will: \n\nHelp artists develop strategies for organizing\, preserving\, inventorying\, and managing works of art and archival records as part of their estate plan.\nProvide recommendations for best practices\, and a simple step-by-step workflow.\nOffer practical advice and useful tips to plan the documentation of their work in keeping with their personal objectives.\n\nFollowing the slide presentation\, Shelley will address individual questions from participants. \nBiography for Shelley Diamond\, MSLIS \nShelley Diamond is the principal of Shelley Diamond Archival Solutions LLC\, which provides archival and collection management services to collectors\, artists\, artist estates\, homeowners\, estate executors\, and beneficiaries in New York City. Her firm helps individuals manage\, document\, preserve and protect works of art as well as tangible personal property. Shelley holds a master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MSLIS) and a Certificate in the Advanced Study in Archives from the Palmer School of Library and Information Science\, Long Island University. She received a bachelor’s degree (BA) in Art History from Vassar College. \nFor two decades\, Shelley was senior archivist at JPMorgan Chase & Co.\, supervising all aspects of the bank’s varied historical collections\, including the organization\, cataloging\, housing\, and preservation of archival records (analog/digital)\, artifacts\, and works of art. She oversaw numerous research and education projects\, curated multiple exhibitions devoted to the bank’s history\, and was editor and co-author of The history of JPMorgan Chase & Co. (2012). Before becoming an archivist\, Shelley was a television news producer at ABC News in New York.
