Gallery Sitka is pleased to present “The Art of Harvest,” a month-long solo exhibition showcasing the remarkable work of Massachusetts artist, writer, educator and curator Beth Neville. With a creative career spanning more than six decades, Neville has built a body of work that reflects an enduring commitment to artistic exploration, craftsmanship and cultural engagement.

Founded under the banner of Neville Art Enterprises in 1964, Neville’s career has encompassed painting, sculpture, collage, printmaking, textiles, illustration, jewelry, mosaics, stained glass, ceramics, landscape design and video art. Her work moves freely between mediums while maintaining a distinctive visual language rooted in observation, imagination and a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of art and life.

Like the strands of a handwoven tapestry, Neville’s life in the arts weaves together the creation of artwork, the writing of art criticism, curating exhibitions and teaching both studio art and art history. Each endeavor has informed and strengthened the others, resulting in an unusually rich and multifaceted career. As an artist, she has presented 35 solo exhibitions from California to New York City, including the renowned NOHO Gallery, and her artwork is represented in public and private collections across the United States and abroad.

Among the many institutions that hold her work are IBM Headquarters in Paris, France; the Martin Luther King Jr. Chapel in Atlanta; the Harvard Club of Boston; Won Kak Sa Buddhist Temple in Queens, New York; Boston University School of Theology; and Milton Town Hall. More than 200 collectors have acquired Neville’s artwork over the years, a testament to its enduring appeal and significance.

In addition to her artistic accomplishments, Neville has been an influential voice in the arts community as president of New York’s NOHO Gallery artists’ cooperative, director of the Milton Art Museum, curator of dozens of exhibitions and a respected arts writer whose criticism has appeared in Artscope Magazine, Art New England and other publications. Her distinguished career has been recognized with inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who in America and a Lifetime Achievement Award.

This exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to experience the breadth and depth of Neville’s artistic vision through a selection of works that celebrate creativity, craftsmanship and a lifelong dedication to the visual arts. Whether working in paint, fiber, sculpture or mixed media, Neville invites viewers into a world where art serves as both personal expression and a bridge to shared human experience.
