Gallery Sitka Announces
ANNUAL EARTH DAY ART EXHIBITION
30+ works by 15 artists
“Ocean Rising II” Reception: Saturday, April 5, 2-4 pm, Open to all
Newport, R.I., March 24, 2025 – Gallery Sitka announces its annual Earth Day exhibition, with an opening reception on Saturday, April 5 from 2-4pm. This year’s Earth Day theme is “Ocean Rising II” and features a group show with a variety of mediums on display. All are welcome to the free reception at Gallery Sitka, located on the corner of Spring and Franklin Streets in Newport. Many of the 15 participating artists will be in attendance. The exhibit will be available for viewing through April.
Gallery Sitka owner, Tamar Russell Brown states, “We feel strongly about our responsibility for the health of our planet. Our way of paying attention, and drawing attention, is through our actions – including artwork. Recently many of us have seen intense flooding on the East Coast. Therefore, as with last year’s Earth Day art exhibition, the gallery will focus on our oceans, rising sea levels, flooding, and the like. We have invited artists to interpret the theme as they see fit and to utilize whatever medium they desire.”
2025 participating artists include Beth Barry, Marston Clough, Linda Cuccurullo, Sandi Daniel, Barbara Groh, CM Judge, Sara E. Lyons, Dawn Haley Morton, Ginny Newton, Scott Niemi, Jane Robbins, Daniel Senie, Kate Shaffer, Tony Siegle, Erin Starr, and Cynthia Woehrle.
