SHIRLEY, Mass. — Kate Shaffer has loved to make art her whole life, just as she has always loved jazz, particularly jazz vocalists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, and Peggy Lee. These women and others are the great jazz artists she began listening to when she was a teenager, and they are the featured subject matter of her upcoming exhibition at Zavo on April 2.
