"What is old is new again” is the theme of an online group exhibit entitled “Under the Bed,” in which the artists have selected their favorite work. Participating artists include C.M. Judge, Ruth Nelson, Sue Norton, Helen Obermeyer Simmons, Joanne Stowell, Carolyn Todd, Susan Wadsworth and Elsa Voelcker. The exhibition opens Friday, January 15, 2021, and originates from Gallery Sitka in Shirley, Mass.
Music and color inspire me. As I listen to music, colors emerge and begin to dance in my mind. Each type of music requires different colors. Even within one genre, the colors can be quite different depending on the mood of the music. This series deals with calming classical music. The colors reflect the peacefulness I want to evoke.
Over the past 6 years, we have had several Earth Day art exhibits, or have connected our spring shows to #EARTHDAY. Earth Day is super important to us, but as one brand we follow says, Earth Day should be every day. Since we only have one planet, our job is to take care of it.

These are troubling times for our environment. The world as we know it is on the precipice. As responsible humans we are called upon to respond differently to our earth – to repurpose, reduce, reuse, recycle, restore, and reinvent our human landscape and the planet we depend on.
The exhibit features 14 artists with 25 pieces of artwork. Mediums include oil paint, acrylic, ink, watercolor, wood sculpture, and digital image capture. Many of the participating artists will be in attendance for the gallery reception; the exhibition will be shown through June 21, with gallery hours Thursday through Sunday, and after June 12, daily from 11-5.
