A twisted panorama from about 30 photos I shot of The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado.
The majestic hotel stands high in the Rockies, with magnificent views of the surrounding ice-capped mountains.
Unfortunately, this wondrous scenery is endangered due to global warming emissions.
It is, no doubt, the fantastic scenery and the isolated setting which led Stephen King to choose this hotel as the setting for his novel, “The Shining.” The psychological thriller directly references the Stanley Hotel, which is known as “The Overlook Hotel,” in both Stephen King’s novel and in the classic film of director Stanley Kubrick.
