Biography for Carolyn Todd

I was awarded an art scholarship to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. I also earned a Master of Arts degree from the University of Houston in Fine Arts and Arts Education. I have worked as an art therapist, a secondary art teacher, a private and public art instructor for adults and youth. I was proud to be selected as an “Artist in Residence” for the National Park Service. The solo show for the NPS, “El Cielo, Las Mesas y El Rio Diablo” was celebrated with park staff, visitors, local artists, and the public.

I have taught drawing, encaustic, oil, acrylic, and watercolor painting in galleries, art museums, art institutions, and universities. My paintings are in collections in the United States, Europe, Mexico, and South America. I was selected to have my first solo show in Massachusetts at the Conant Gallery of Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA. My paintings and drawings have been exhibited in group shows for four local art associations: ALL, NAAA, Princeton Art Association, and GALA. I have taught and continue to teach art studio classes and art history for Fitchburg State University’s ALFA program.
